This is an original pattern for a knitted brooch for your winter coat or a favourite knit. Inspired by the pretty brooches made and worn by women during World War II to cheer up tired, worn out rationed clothing.

Add To Cart

This would make a great addition to a modern wardrobe, and a lovely gift. As only small amounts of wool are required, it makes a great stash-busting project. Ideal for the adventurous beginner.

It uses the i-cord technique, which is explained in the pattern.

Materials
A few metres of purple, yellow and green 4 ply cotton, or wool.
2.75mm straight needles, and double-pointed needles. (To work the i-cord)
Small piece of felt in a colour to match or tone with one of the above colours.
Sewing thread in colour to match felt
Blunt and sharp sewing needles
Brooch pin

Tension
Tension is not crucial for this project

Measurements
Approximately 10 - 12cm/4 - 5 inches long and 5 - 6cm/2 - 3 inches wide.

This listing is for the PDF pattern only - not the original pattern, and not the finished brooch.
