A sweet knitted brooch, reminiscent of the 'Make Do and Mend' brooches of WW2.

Add To Cart

This is an original pattern for a knitted brooch for your winter coat or a favourite knit. Inspired by the pretty brooches made by women during World War II to cheer up tired, worn out rationed clothing.

As only small amounts of wool are required, it makes a great stash-busting project. Ideal for the adventurous beginner.

It uses the i-cord technique, which is explained in the pattern.

Small amounts of 4 ply / fingering weight yarn in four colours:
Light Green, Dark Green, Cream or Beige, and Brown.
2x 3mm double pointed needles and a pair of 3.25mm straight needles.
Small piece of felt in a colour to match or tone with one of the above colours.
Cotton thread in colour to match felt
Blunt and sharp sewing needles
Brooch pin

Not crucial for this project

Approximately 10cm/4 inches wide and 8cm/3 inches long.

This listing is for the PDF pattern only - not the original pattern, and not the finished brooch.
